Bournemouth Aviation Museum is slightly unusual in as much as it features both retired and operational aircraft, at the time of this visit the Red Bull sponsored DeHavilland Sea Vixen was preparing to undertake a post maintenance check flight. As well as two hangars full of aircraft and smaller rooms containing quite possibly the largest collection of plastic model aircraft this visitor has ever seen in a museum, there are also numerous exhibits outside, some of which visitors are allowed to enter. There is also a large picnic area with benches and tables which allows an unrestricted view of the small apron located alongside the museum and runway 26 Bournemouth Aviation Museum is located at Hangar 600, Bournemouth Airport, Christchurch, Dorset.
