For various reasons Rich was only able to visit Fairford 2013 on the Friday and the Monday, the Friday was a little bit quiet with few aircraft arriving, the notable exceptions being the Red Bull B25 Mitchell and the F4 Corsair both of which looked resplendent in the bright sunshine. The Monday was the usual frantic non-stop action of departing aircraft. This years Tattoo was memorable for a number of reasons, the return to Fairford of a Canberra which had been granted permission by the Civil Aviation Authority to make the short flight from Kemble following an extensive restoration and first test flight, and farewell to the VC10 which is leaving service with the R.A.F. after many years of service in the tanker and transport role.
