IPMS Avon Model Show Thornbury Leisure Center 7-8-2022.

Dave and I and at I guess many of our members attended the IPMS (International Plastic Modelling Society) Avon & Lincombe Barn's combined modelling & wargaming show, as it had not run since 2019 due to covid lock downs. The show was held at its regular venue, at Thornbury Leisure Centre on Sunday 7/8/22. This gallery of photos was taken on my phone and show the high standard of modelling on show. The show covered all types and scales of plastic kit building including scratch builds and metal figures to name a few modelling styles, a great variety of models including aircraft (both civil and military) ships, cars, armoured vehicles, and figures, space travel, science fiction, and the bizarre that included a bell-shaped model of Die Glocke the Nazi anti-gravity time machine were all on show. As you can see from the photos many UK IPMS groups attended to show their builds. Our own Wings Speaker and modeller Ken Duffy was also displaying some models. Also some un-finished models in progress are also shown as the organisers say not everybody is an expert and seeing just how someone builds a model can be interesting and thought provoking to all modellers, after all such hobbies as modelling are a continual learning progress. At the IPMS There were also practical demonstrations and plenty of time to chat about the hobby, including war gaming. The IPMS members showing their models were also very helpful and friendly being ready to answer questions and give advice.
