North Yorkshire Moors Tour 29-4-2017.

Pathfinder Tours put on a fantastic trip to the North Yorks Moors Railway (and other options), Providing power to get to Scarborough with a DRS brand new Class 68, after all it wasn't that long ago when we blasted our way there and back behind D1015! anyway after a coach trip across the N Yorkshire Moors and short time in Whitby now home of Steam Punks and Old Goths that like buying up Black Jet Jewellery. After a few good ales or so and visit to the Abbey in the short time we had, it was time to get on the 8 coach 2pm train to Pickering, hauled by main line registered beast a Thomson GCR/LNER B1 loco of course. The 8 coach train was full and comprised of 2 full coaches of reserved Pathfinder folk (us), and a large party that were celebrating Lord Balfour's (of Balfour Beatty) 90th Birthday, photo included at Pickering. Enjoy some of my pics of us on the now 24 mile long steam hauled trip under Larpool Viaduct on the River Esk and some mighty impressive B1 loco thrash up the 6 mile incline up to 1/49 climb to the 532ft Goathland Summit. And then steam our way across the moors and drop down to Pickering. Oh and even Forest Green Football fans used the final pathfinder tickets to go see their team play York on the day, the score was 2-2, David Drew (ex Stroud MP was included in this group) . What a day, Enjoy the photos,
