Severn Valley Railway Diesel Gala 19-5-2016.

Here we go, The preserved Peak Army on the move yet again, this time with restored Gateshead 46045 in prototype 1960's Chromatic Blue! Also freshly painted two tone green Deltic D9002 KOYLI the excellent D1015 Western Champion running as Western Campaigner, 33035, 2 x pairs of 20's, three or so class 50's in action I think, Goyles, 37, 68, 09's, 73's etc. A brilliant day out with rather a lot of ale, looking at his old 46 Bashing book Richard had 580 miles behind 46045 up to 1983 (mainly on the NE-SW ECML and a trip to Weymouth and back to Bristol) up until its withdrawal in 1984. Also at the start of this gallery is a Peak bashing flashback of Richard and Nick at Derby with 46016, Oscar in 1982, that's 34 years ago. They departed Stonehouse at 7.15 and went via Brum New Street and Snow Hill on the outward journey which for a bit more cost gave them more time on the valley (and ale...) well worth it to maximise the day. Enjoy the pictures.
