Well the sun only shines on the Southern (now and then) and when it does let it be Golden! Me and Nick made our bi-annual pilgrimage to all things great at the MHRly. The Guest Engine was Bluebell Railway recent restoration Maunsell's Q Class 4F, and LSWR Victorian, Steam Punk T9, the home fleet including 925 Chelters, 34007 Wadebridge, that will soon also be out of ticket, and very recently out shopped LMS Ivatt 2MT that really thrashed over the alps, splurting out large lumps of very hot coal (usual goggles required for flailing)! The Mid hants usual style of freight trains, vans/tankers on local trains all made for great atmosphere and pictures, the end of day saw a rare double heading of Q and T9 locos into a very roaring steamy sunset (as attached), what a day!
